For over twenty years, the Stamm Foundation has been working to strengthen health, education, nutrition, and social inclusion for Burundi’s most vulnerable communities. In recent months, several major initiatives have highlighted our commitment. Discover them below and see how, thanks to our partners and your support, we are transforming lives.
SFFW Program: University Studies Without Financial Barriers

Since 2022, the Support for Future Weavers (SFFW) program has been supporting ten talented young people each year, covering all their university needs: tuition fees, study materials, accommodation, and living expenses. In return, these scholarship recipients actively contribute to their community. Their top priority? Protecting the Lake Tanganyika ecosystem. They regularly organize drain cleaning and awareness days to reduce pollution entering the lake.
Surgical Campaign at Hippocrates Hospital

Since 2019, our Hippocrates Hospital has been conducting an annual free surgery campaign. Aimed at low-income families, the 2025 edition allowed over 80 patients with various conditions—such as hernias, obstetric fistulas, cataracts, congenital malformations, and more—to receive surgery. This initiative brings hope to people who would otherwise have no access to medical care.
National Workshop on Nutrition and Food Security

In collaboration with Welthungerhilfe, the Stamm Foundation brought together key civil society actors at the Royal Palace Hotel to reinvigorate national advocacy for nutrition. Over the course of two days, NGOs, local authorities, and researchers developed a shared roadmap aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) by 2030.
Meanwhile, a malnutrition prevention project is already underway in the Kirundo and Ruyigi provinces with the support of ODEB and WHH
Giriwanyu Kibondo Project: 18,000 Birth Certificates Issued

Thanks to funding from UNICEF Burundi, over 18,000 children from the provinces of Muyinga, Kirundo, Cankuzo, Ruyigi, and Makamba have received their birth certificates free of charge since January 2025. This simple document ensures access to healthcare, education, and citizenship in the future.
Academic Support and Socio-Emotional Development

Our educators support children after school to strengthen their academic foundations while developing their social and emotional skills. The goal is to provide them with a solid foundation for long-term success, regardless of their background.
The Ruganirwa Community Daycare: A Springboard for Batwa Children

At the heart of Ruganirwa, this daycare allows young Batwa children to experience the school environment in a nurturing setting. The first enrollees have already earned their primary school diplomas, proving that a strong start makes all the difference.
Sewing Training: 20 New Graduates Ready to Start Their Ventures

After six months of intensive training, our young tailors received their certificates. The Foundation’s representative encouraged them to start their own workshops without delay, supported through our partnership with the German city of Koblenz.
Access to Drinking Water: 170 Sources Built or Rehabilitated

To date, 170 water sources have already been built or rehabilitated, with 40 more underway. Communities are experiencing a decline in waterborne diseases, savings on healthcare costs, and more time that can now be dedicated to agriculture and education.
Through its various initiatives, the Stamm Foundation demonstrates daily its commitment to children, youth, and vulnerable families in Burundi. Whether in education, health, access to water, or the fight against malnutrition, each project helps build a more equitable and resilient society.
Because sustainable change relies on collective solidarity, your support matters. Together, let’s continue to grow hope. Make a donation, volunteer your time, or share our actions with others. Every gesture is another stone laid on the path to progress.
