Buringa Centre: a self-sustaining school, home and farm.

Our most ambitious project to date — a 100% self-sustaining educational and accommodation ecosystem for over 200 children, opening in September 2027.

Food self-sustaining (crops, goats, beehives) on a clean 1.2 hectare site, an integrated transition from housing to school, thus eliminating the 8 hours of daily walking to access education.

Education is not yet accessible to most Burundian children due to economic hardship. We run nurseries, primary schools, five technical secondary schools (ETO, ETEE, ETAB, ETPM, EPCM) and university scholarships.

This project supports children with albinism through three axes: specialized health care (sunscreen, protective clothing, equipment adapted to visual impairment), educational excellence (20 boarding school children benefiting from daily monitoring and showing excellent results), and community anchoring (32 external children supported with school equipment and sun protection for the dry season).
