For more than twenty years, the Stamm Foundation has been working to strengthen health, education, nutrition, and social inclusion for the most vulnerable communities in Burundi. In recent months, several major initiatives have marked our commitment. Discover them below and see how, thanks to our partners and your support, we are transforming lives.
SFFW Program: University Studies Without Financial Barriers

Since 2022, the “Support for Future Weavers” (SFFW) program has supported ten talented young people each year, covering all their university needs: tuition, study materials, housing, and living expenses. In return, these scholarship recipients invest in their community. Their top priority? Protecting the Lake Tanganyika ecosystem: they regularly organize gutter-cleaning days and awareness campaigns to reduce pollution flowing into the lake.
Surgical Campaign at Hippocrates Hospital

Since 2019, our Hippocrates Hospital has led an annual free surgery campaign. Aimed at low-income families, the 2025 edition operated on more than 80 patients suffering from various conditions: hernias, obstetric fistulas, cataracts, congenital malformations, and more. This initiative gives hope to people who would otherwise have no access to medical solutions.
National Workshop on Nutrition and Food Security

In collaboration with Welthungerhilfe, the Stamm Foundation brought together key civil society actors at the Royal Palace Hotel to rejuvenate national advocacy for nutrition. Over two days, NGOs, local authorities, and researchers built a shared roadmap aiming for Sustainable Development Goal 2 (“Zero Hunger”) by 2030. Simultaneously, a project to combat malnutrition is already being deployed in the provinces of Kirundo and Ruyigi, supported by ODEB and WHH.
Giriwanyu Kibondo Project: 18,000 Birth Certificates Issued

Thanks to funding from UNICEF Burundi, more than 18,000 children from the provinces of Muyinga, Kirundo, Cankuzo, Ruyigi, and Makamba have received their birth certificates for free since January 2025. This simple document guarantees later access to health care, schooling, and citizenship.
Academic Support & Socio-Emotional Development

Our educators support children after school to strengthen their academic foundations while developing their social and emotional skills. The goal is to give them a solid base for long-term success, regardless of their background.
Community Daycare in Ruganirwa: A Launching Pad for Batwa Children

In the heart of Ruganirwa, this daycare enables Batwa toddlers to discover the school world in a caring environment. The first enrolled children have already completed their primary education — proof that a strong start really makes a difference.
Sewing Training: 20 New Graduates Ready to Start Businesses

After six months of intensive training, our young tailors received certificates. A representative of the Foundation encouraged them to start their own sewing workshops right away, supported by our partnership with the German city of Koblenz.
Access to Drinking Water: 170 Springs Built or Rehabilitated

So far, 170 water springs have been built or rehabilitated, and 40 more are underway. Communities are seeing a drop in waterborne diseases, saving on health costs, and gaining time that they now spend on farming and education.
A Growing Fabric of Solidarity
Through these various initiatives, the Stamm Foundation demonstrates every day its commitment to children, young people, and vulnerable families in Burundi. Whether in education, health, access to water, or the fight against malnutrition, each project contributes to building a more equitable and resilient society.
Sustainable change relies on collective solidarity — your support matters. Together, let’s continue to nurture hope. Make a donation, give your time or share our actions with those around you. Every gesture is another stone laid on the path to progress.
